Rainbow History Project

Founded in 2000 when Washington, DC lacked a home for LGBTQ history, the Rainbow History Project (RHP) has grown into the region’s leading all-volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to collecting, preserving, and promoting the diverse histories of metropolitan DC’s LGBTQ communities. Over the last 25 years, RHP has built extensive archives, conducted oral histories, led walking tours, hosted public panels, and is currently developing K-12 curricula aligned with DC Public Schools’ new social studies standards.

Center For Black Equity

Founded in 1999, the Center for Black Equity is the leading organization dedicated to promoting health equity, economic empowerment, and social justice for Black LGBTQ+ communities. As the producer of DC Black Pride, the first official Black Pride celebration, originator of the Global Black Pride movement, the Center has been instrumental in creating safe, affirming spaces and driving global advocacy for Black LGBTQ+ rights in DC and around the globe.

Modern Military Association of America

The Modern Military Association of America (MMAA) is the nation’s largest nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing fairness and equality for LGBTQ+ service members, veterans, and military families. Through advocacy, education, and support, MMAA uplifts the voices and experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals in the military community past and present. Their work ensures that those who’ve served are seen, respected, and remembered.
